Rude Goose?

zoe

Rude Goose Design was established in 2004 by Zoë Tucker, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art, to provide identity, graphic and website design services to small and medium sized businesses. Zoë's training in design, combined with a compulsion for high quality web coding and a drive to stay abreast of technological developments in the web design industry give this small business the rare ability to deliver websites of exceptional quality both in design and in underlying technical detail, at affordable prices.

It's hard to be good at everything, so over the years we have built up a great network of skilled associates in other fields, such as video production, copy writing and various programming languages, so there's not much we can't tackle.

What makes us tick?

Our two passions are for the integration of brand identity across all visual points of contact that a client or prospective client may have with your business, and for the enrichment of that experience through the best use of available technology.

First impressions must never be underestimated, but equally as powerful is consistent reinforcement of the brand message. We achieve this by taking the time to understand you and your clients; who you are now and where you hope to be next year and in years to come. This understanding allows us to deliver more than a pretty picture, but to consistently deliver your message through your logo, stationery, brochure design, website design, exhibition stand design, right down to the presentation of your emails.

Of course a website that is difficult to navigate and use will do nothing to enhance your prospective clients' impression of your business. We work very hard to stay up to speed with the constantly developing web technologies. This enables us to offer you the most appropriate solution for your needs and budget and your users the very best experience available through an informed choice of applications.

What makes us different?

Where we differ from many other small design companies is that our websites look great, deliver your message and function! Each one is built following the latest web standards guidelines issued by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), ensuring that your site will be accessible to the search engines, accessible to your visitors, regardless of their browser and settings, and accessible to those with visual and other impairments that could otherwise hinder their experience of your site. Additional benefits include reduced page loading times, reduced server loading and easier maintenance. Furthermore, by using valid XHTML to build your site, we ensure that it is future proof, meaning that it won't suddenly break down when Microsoft bring out a new browser, as was the case with many poorly built sites when IE7 was released.

Why Rude Goose?

Rude Goose was named after our highly vigilant, if somewhat obstreperous geese, Alun (foreground) and Mandy. In such a competitive market as web design, we opted for a name that would be memorable, and visual imagery that would be attractive and fun to work with. So far Rude Goose has achieved that quite nicely.
